Social Responsibility

With an unwavering social responsibility to their clients and their community, Summaglo has developed a strong affiliation with the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia Inc (BCFWA Inc), through the Foundation's Luscious Days program.

Inspired and amazed by the phenomenal women of WA who have survived, or are battling breast cancer, Summaglo hosts Pamper Days at their Salon on behalf of the BCFWA Inc, to help promote feelings of relaxation, rejuvenation and well-being among the women.

"I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed the afternoon at the pamper day. It was great to meet all the other women there, and all the make-up artists, beauticians, hairdressers etc were really lovely. I had great fun getting my make-up done, complete with false eyelashes. I've missed my eyelashes so much - I really enjoyed having them back, even if only temporarily. I especially loved the clothes. Morrison is one of my favourite shops, so I will be getting lots of wear out of that present! Oh, and the food was delicious. And the entertainment (Johannes on piano accordion and Natasha singing) was fantastic. I can't wait to see the photos. Thanks so much for inviting me. I had my last radiation this morning, and it was a perfect celebration to come to the pamper day and just relax and enjoy being finished treatment".

"Dear wonderful people at the Breast Cancer Foundation (especially Nerida). I was fortunate enough to attend the Pamper Day in February this year. It was sooooooooo fantastic that I was still thinking about how good it made me feel a whole month later. The only downside is that I realised how long it had been and that I had not yet sent an email or snailmail to say THANKYOU. Then I felt guilty. Then coincidentally, a couple of days later, a huge photo of my glamorous baldness arrived in the mail. Then I felt good yet again, but twice as guilty. So thankyou, THANKYOU, thankyou. And the photo is a really beautiful memento of this time of life and will remind me of how many people were lovely to us and said 'you look beautiful' when I probably looked anything but!!

Thankyou especially to Nerida for putting together such a well matched group of women. And to think all of the helpers there at Sumaglo were volunteers. What good hearts. I still have a little giggle inside when I think of the lovely lady who thanked US for coming along! It's good to be alive. Thanks again".

"A big thankyou to the BCFWA, volunteers and to the staff at Summalgo for a really lovely afternoon. What a treat! - so generous, so lovely and so very much appreciated. Thankyou also to Morrison for the outfit (it fits me like a glove!). Also a big thankyou to Lynnette Ferguson for the very much loved patchwork quilt. It was overwhelming receiving it, especially knowing the love and care that must have been put in to creating it and putting it together. It’s amazing to see such generous and kind community support, and it’s really nice to have such caring hands and hearts to help restore our dignity and confidence".
